Computer Stuff

Ok so what about all this computer stuff?

My view is that everyone needs to learn how to use a computer. Of course I'm biased and when civilization comes crashing down on our heads all that computer knowledge won't be worth much. About that time I'll be looking around to make some survivalist friends but in the mean time I guess I'll take my chances and live life vicariously through my computer games and simulations.

One of the first computer games that caught my interest was F15 Strike Eagle (on the Atari 800). The graphics were quite primative by today's standards but how could I EVER find myself behind the stick of an F15/F16/F18/Stealth fighter in this lifetime? Only on a computer.

Another early influence: Educational tapes for the Atari 400 (yes I had one). I just couldn't get over how the computer would just sit there patiently FOREVER until I was ready to procede. Where can you get that kind of one-on-one time with a teacher in today's classrooms? Only on a computer.
